Director's meeting

A special Director's meeting was held on 9/16/07 to discuss recent concerns over trail modifications at Pinehurst.

The Director's decided:

• Maintenance of existing trails will continue on an as-needed basis.

• All trail modifications will be reviewed by the Board.

• Paul will continue dealing with the County; he has built a strong working relationship with Parks & Rec and achieved positive results such as the wood chips and benches.

• The Directors will meet again in 2 months to evaluate the review policy and assure that the new process does not stall the momentum that has built over the past year.

• Members are to contact the Directors with concerns or comments about trail modifications.  The Director's email addresses are listed on the website.

Reroute @ Pinehurst Completed
This morning a group of gals and guys from FORCE MTB got together and finished the new entrance to the Pinehurst trail. We now have an A and a B line going into the trail. The A line is nice and challenging at least to my skill level. The B line will be fast for those who like to flow through the trail with few obstacles. The old familiar entrance has been permanently closed at the behest of the county for safety reasons.

As always the fellowship of group trail maintenance turns labor into an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. I am sure those who ride Pinehurst on a regular basis will have seen the improvements that FORCE has made to the trail in the last couple of months. Those who are not participating in the trail work are missing out on a good time. BTW, I am not trying to guilt trip anybody, just giving my honest opinion. Happy trails.
